Nunca me imaginé la cantidad de ideas falsas sobre la lactancia materna: que también debes dar tetero porque la niña no se llena, que mejor dale tetero para que tengas más tiempo para ti y para que duermas más, que será que sí te sale suficiente leche, que si está creciendo bien, que no la dejes mucho tiempo en la teta porque se "malcría", se "malacostumbra" y después te va a querer de chupón, que 15 minutos en cada teta, que 30 minutos en cada teta, que déjala (aunque llore) de 2 a 3 horas sin comer, que luego tus pechos se pondrán feos, que después de los seis meses dale fórmula porque luego la leche materna no es buena, que dale agua, que además de leche tiene que empezar a comer a los cuatro o cinco meses, que no la amamante más de dos años... y ni hablar si menciono algo sobre los brotes de crecimiento, me miran desconfiados y hasta me han dicho que no creen en eso, que si llora debe tener gases o no se está llenando, que le dé tetero.
Es increíble la infinidad de dudas que -sin exagerar, desde el día del nacimiento de mi niña- la sociedad intenta despertar en mí, mujer (en este caso, mujer que decidió dar sólo pecho obviamente a demanda). Lo más insólito es que la gente siempre pregunta y al mismo tiempo responde con mucha firmeza (solamente los ignorantes son tan seguros de sí mismos).
Espero seguir teniendo mucha paciencia, permanecer callada y sonriente, dejándolos en su mundo y usando mi energía para continuar leyendo, aprendiendo (gracias a la vida que tengo acceso a la Red, a la valiosa información que encuentro en ella, si no, no sé qué hubiera sido de mi hijita y de mí).
